Overview

Green Isles foods is Ireland's largest frozen food producer and is head-quartered in Naas, Co. Kildare & established since 1982. We are proud to support 650 Irish Jobs. 

Customer Challenge

Green Isle wanted to create a standard approach to the documentation of their procedures while making the documents more intuitive for their employees.  This involved looking at the existing format & the problems arising for the business & then customise the development of suitable templates & training to upskill employees to approach problem solving, risk assessment.  This led on to the building and deploying a continuous improvement programme

Our Solutions

We worked with the teams in Green Isle to develop & deploy a suitable standard procedural template.  Through the use of continuous improvement, initially using process mapping & visual management to complement the information supplied within the procedures.  This led to more robust documentation & ownership within the teams for their own areas.  

As a result of this success, we then went on to develop & deliver:

  • Lean Six Sigma training at Executive Belt, White Belt, Yellow Belt, Green Belt levels
  • Risk assessment training.  

Outcomes

Through the delivery of these programs applied in both the manufacturing processes as well as the support services areas, this program has brought about :-

  • Efficiencies in processes >25%,
  • Improvement in yield figures >10%
  • Full team engagement in ideas generation & implementation
  • Process awareness
  • Empowerment of employees
  • Significant financial savings of >900K euro
